Cookstown Primary School, Cookstown

Year 7 Scotland Trip 2025

11th Jun 2025

On Tuesday 3rd June, 41 pupils and 5 staff departed Cookstown PS for their long-awaited educational trip to Scotland. Following a smooth ferry crossing, they visited Glasgow Science Centre, where they had a fantastic time exploring all the different stations and activities. The journey then continued on with a stop at the Kelpies & Helix Park before arriving at the Park Hotel Falkirk, their base for the next 4 days. Day 2 was spent at the brilliant Blair Drummond Safari Park, where the pupils saw a variety of different animals and made amazing memories on the rides.  Edinburgh was the destination for Day 3 of the trip and the pupils visited the superb Camera Obscura, Edinburgh Castle and participated in fantastic walking tour of the Royal Mile alongside Mr Clapperton our guide. On Day 4, they visited the Tall Ship & Riverside Museum in Glasgow before heading to Braehead Shopping Centre for some retail therapy. The ferry home was on Friday evening and the whole group arrived back in Cookstown for 11pm.

We are so proud of each pupil, who were fantastic ambassadors for Cookstown Primary School in Scotland and the staff received a number of compliments on the children’s behaviour and manners which was brilliant!
