Year 6 news
Year 6 have had a very busy term so far. We have loved learning all about our new theme ‘IMPACT’. We had a class debate on who was to blame for the sinking of the Titanic and the class voted in their opinion, Bruce Ismay was the one responsible for the Titanic sinking. We have also been making junk art projects from recyclable materials. We had a ball on World Book Day and enjoyed having a scavenger hunt with the books in the library.
One of our favourite activities this term was having a visit from Cookstown High School. Mr Johnson and Cookstown High School pupils kindly taught us a STEM lesson. We had to create an invention that would hold an egg using only straws. All groups achieved this and we were very proud of ourselves.
We also took part in ‘Our World’ employability workshop. We had to create a business and sell the items we had used. Another fantastic activity. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us……..
