Year 5 Temperature Investigation
Year 5 had a fantastic time during a hands-on numeracy lesson exploring temperature!
Using thermometers, the children investigated how temperature changes affect the movement of the liquid inside. We set up three different jugs: one filled with hot water, one with room temperature water, and one with cold water.
The pupils carefully placed the thermometers into each jug and observed what happened. They watched closely as the liquid inside the thermometers moved up and down depending on the temperature, helping them understand how thermometers measure heat.
The children demonstrated great observational skills and used their numeracy skills to read and compare temperatures. It was an engaging and practical lesson that helped bring learning to life—well done, Year 5!
