Year 5 had an exciting start to their new learning journey as they took part in “Our City,” the first in a series of three live lessons hosted by Young Enterprise. Joining over 20 other Primary 5 classes from across Northern Ireland, pupils explored what makes a city unique and how it differs from towns and villages.
During the session, pupils enjoyed asking live questions, taking part in online quizzes, and sharing their ideas with other schools. They were then set a fast-paced challenge: create their own city in just 15 minutes using only junk materials!
Rising to the task, pupils worked brilliantly in teams to design and build impressive models featuring homes, farms, banks, hotels, and factories—all imagined, planned, and constructed within the time limit.
A fantastic effort from everyone involved. Well done, Year 5!
