Year 5 Explore the Human Body – Outside the Classroom!

19th Sep 2025

This week, Year 5 took their science lesson outdoors for a fun and interactive exploration of the human body and its organs.

Pupils began by lying down while their partners traced around their bodies, creating life-sized silhouettes. Once the outlines were ready, the real challenge began – working together to guess where the major organs belong and drawing them in. From hearts in shoulders to livers near knees, we had some very creative placements that led to lots of laughter and even better discussions!

Through this hands-on activity, students deepened their understanding of where our organs are located and what each one does. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic.

Well done, Year 5 – brilliant teamwork, great thinking, and lots of learning!
