Year 5 were absolutely delighted to visit “The Amazing Journey” in our school assembly hall this week. The children were transported back to Bible times and introduced to several key figures, including Matthew the tax collector, the woman at the well, a Roman soldier, and Mary Magdalene.
Through these characters, the pupils learned how each of them met the Lord Jesus and discovered that He was unlike any other man — sinless and perfect. The Amazing Journey team, along with volunteers from Cookstown Baptist Church, guided the children through Bible stories that helped them understand how Jesus came to earth to be our Saviour, and how He died on the cross to forgive our sins.
As part of the experience, the children also had the chance to sample foods from Bible times and try on costumes, which made the learning even more exciting and memorable. To top it all off, everyone received free resources to take home — a very kind gesture from the team.
The pupils had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed this unique and meaningful learning experience!
