Year 4 have had an exciting and hands-on month of learning!
To begin their new unit on symmetry, the children used LEGO bricks to build and identify symmetrical designs, exploring how shapes and patterns can be mirrored.
They also launched into their new topic on Weather through a series of creative, scientific, and sensory investigations. The class experimented with ice cubes to discover how paint, warm hands, and salt affect melting, making predictions and observing real-time changes. Their artistic skills came to life as they created beautiful oil pastel snowflakes, crafted marshmallow and paper snowflakes, and explored repeating patterns in nature.
To deepen their understanding of weather phenomena, the children made a rain cloud in a jar, watching how water droplets gather and fall—just like real rainfall.
It has been a wonderful blend of science, creativity, and problem-solving, and Year 4 impressed everyone with their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning!
