WW2 Artefacts in Year 4

8th Jun 2026

The children had a fantastic opportunity to explore a range of fascinating historical artefacts kindly brought in by Mrs Wilson, whose mum has collected these items during her work as a history teacher—what a valuable resource for our topic!

The class were thoroughly engaged as they examined real objects from World War Two, including parts of a plane, authentic ration books, and identity cards. They were especially intrigued when comparing three different gas masks, with many expressing amazement at just how heavy the baby gas mask was.

It was wonderful to see such curiosity and enthusiasm for history brought to life through real objects. A huge thank you to Mrs Norris for sharing these incredible artefacts with us!
