In Year 3, we had lots of fun learning about exchanging by playing the Tom Ten and Uncle Unit board game in groups. Working together, we used dice to build numbers, swapping ten ones for one ten. Tom Ten helped us understand tens, while Uncle Unit showed us how ones work, making it easier to see when we needed to exchange. We talked, shared ideas, and helped each other spot when it was time to trade, turning tricky maths into an exciting team challenge. By the end, we felt much more confident with exchanging and enjoyed learning together!
