We were very lucky to receive a bag full of conkers from Poppy in our class and used these to complete fun activities during Maths Week.
First, we used our estimating skills to estimate how many conkers we thought were in the bag. Then, we estimated how many would fit into a jam jar. Would you believe that Poppy and Vikki were joint winners with their closest guesses?
We then used the balancing scales to see how many conkers = 500g or 1kg. We worked in groups to see how many conkers = 500g and figured out that if we added these conkers together, that would equal 1kg!
