We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor from the BBC this week — weather forecaster Cecilia Daly. Cecilia gave the boys and girls a fascinating insight into her role, explaining how her day begins with early-morning conference calls at 5.30am with fellow forecasters across the UK and Ireland, before analysing data, writing her script and preparing her graphics. She treated us to a live forecast, which left everyone amazed by her professionalism, and then took time to watch the pupils’ own weather reports created using a green screen app. Some lucky pupils even got the chance to present the weather using Cecilia’s real graphics behind them. It was a truly memorable and inspiring afternoon, and we are very grateful to Cecilia for sharing her time, knowledge and expertise with us.
