Boys’ and Girls’ Football
The football season ended this year with the Super Six tournament held at Dungannon Swifts FC. Our school brought two boys’ teams and one team of girls and the tournament was played in fabulous weather.
A TEAM
We won the group so then we had to play the semi-final against Windmill A team. Fortunately, the boys did brilliantly, and we won 4 – 0, with Jack scoring all four goals! In the final the boys came up against Bush PS again and despite playing superbly, the game ended 0 – 0 which meant it had to be decided on penalties.
Luck was not on our side and we lost the shoot-out 2 – 1 but the boys had given their all and they should all be very proud of themselves.
B Team results
The B team also played well and overall, they were placed second in their group, which was a super achievement. Everyone played their part, and I was very proud of everyone who played so well today.
Girls’ Team results
The girls were drawn in a tough group of six teams, and they had to be placed in the top two, in order to progress into the semi-finals, which they did!! Unfortunately, in the semi-final, we lost 2 – 1 to St John’s PS, despite 1 – 0 at one stage. However, the girls can be especially proud of all their achievements in this tournament.
A huge thank you to Miss Junk and Mrs Chambers for looking after the teams so well.
